Hunger Games: A Girl From District 12 (by Lisa Malanij)
In excitement for the movie premier of the Hunger Games coming out this weekend, I decided to throw together a couple of Hunger Games inspired outfits to show off my new Mockingjay pin. This is variation #2 which features a more simplified “girly” look than the militaristic variation #1: Down with the CAPITOL. This second variation of a Capitol “Seam” District 12 inspired look features a simple black cotton pleated dress, and a side braid as an echo Katniss’ trademark side braid. The gloves black beaded gloves were my grandmother’s, adding an authentic vintage feel. I’m wearing Lime Crime’s Carousel Gloss in Golden Ticket. A perfect shade for the golden decadence of the Capitol, don’t you think?CHECK MY BLOG FOR FULL HUNGER GAMES OUTFIT POST: LISA BLOG POST - OUTFIT POST#001: Hunger Games, Disctrict 12

Hunger Games: Down with the CAPITOL! (by Lisa Malanij)
My inspiration for this outfit came from a girl from the Capitol attempting to dress like someone from the Seam, cashing in on the whole Mockingjay pin as a fashion item rather than it’s true meaning ^.~But with with accents of golden metallic makeup in a more streamlined fashion. I’m wearing Lime Crime’s Carousel Gloss in Golden Ticket. A perfect shade for the golden decadence of the Capitol, don’t you think?

Hey guys!  Here are my new business cards for 2011!  I made them at the end of July so I could hand out my updated business cards while on my vacation to NYC networking to other designers, friends, industry professionals, and cute boys. *cough cough*

I designed them myself using runway photos by Thadd Fiala of my CIRCLE.SQUARE collection in Cincinnati Fashion Week 2010.  My graphic designer dad kind of helped me with the typeface. I love them!

I had two other previously awesome business card designs which had a limited printing.  So my business cards are kind of like collectible trading cards!  Which ones do you have?  BTW if you want one of my business cards just tell me next time you see me, send me an email with your address, or take me out for coffee, dinner, or drinks to network. J/K :]

My first was designed by my web designer, Mike Stone.  Can you see the optical illusion hidden message?  This design is majorly awesome!

My second card was designed by Emily Outz, who is also modeling my blue triangle dress in the photo.  She’s a lady of many talents.

And of course all talk of business cards will forever remind me of that scene in American Psycho.  My God, it even has a watermark…

xoxo
